Some weird thing i threw together
A few more days of work and it could have been a real piece of art, but frankly, i'm done with this sh*t. I'm just gonna go play minecraft instead.
Update: Honestly i just made this for myself but then i was like "eh, might as well upload it" and now since it's here it might as well be playable, so i added save data and joystick support. thanks for telling me about the save data function btw, i didn't even know that was a thing before
Yeah, i made this in part as a response to playing too many games with really shallow turn-based combat systems. I like to think i know what i'm doing, at least to some extent
It's quite a bit better than my S2. I remember there you had FIGHT, SHOOT, POTION, and RUNESTONE.
To be able to have abilities that have a cool-down period is more in keeping with modern RPGs. Nicely done.
I would only suggest that the joystick could be used.
Other than that, gold star work, @Dragoneye. Deserving of.

@Dragoneye, could you please add the ability of SAVE with DSET() ? That is after you defeat one enemy you can come back to the game later and try for the next ? Currently if you defeat one or more enemies and come back to the game later, having either closed the tab or loaded a different Pico-8 program, you must start over from the beginning.
Also to add ERASE to optionally remove your save file and start over.
@dw817 Yeah, i didn't really expect the game to, like, be long at all, so i didn't consider someone might want to leave and come back to it later, but then i added too much stuff and now it takes forever to get through, so you're right, a save feature makes sense. so i did that. oh, and also joystick support 'cause why not?
