Greetings to Claudia, Fini, Sophia, Michi and Erwin.
Not ONLY is this based on one of my favorite TV series of all time the game itself is REALLY good. I had a big smile on my face when the GORN came out.
Might suggest when you lose one of your 3-lives instead of just taking it and continuing, have game freeze up with message like, "Get Ready." and hit (X) or (O) to continue from there.
Can't wait to see what other items may pop out.
Congratulations, Captain, @rompa. Take this gold star and be promoted to Admiral.
Lol same here, I definitely felt some glee seeing this, and it’s quite fun!
Good fun.
One suggestion: I don't think you should lose a life if you hit a gorn while it is stunned.
Ran into a problem, @rompa. On the BORG ship one of the pieces of Latinum appeared where I cannot get it.
This is not really a problem on the GORN level as it's not required to get it. But it =IS= for BORG so the game cannot continue and locks here as it cannot be taken.
Also is there an ending to the levels or is the game infinite ?
Thanks for the bug report. Version 1.1 has been uploaded:
Fixes:
- No more latinum in borders
- Up/down item reset (was not reset when you got 'game over' in borg cube)
This is a really good game - a brilliant concept, nice clear graphics, fun gameplay, good sound, progression of abilities, bonus levels. You should be proud of this cartridge. Definite star.
But, and this is purely a personal point of view, I think there's something missing which would stop me from coming back to this game in the future. I'm not really sure what it is, but I think it boils down to: Once you've got Spock , seen the Borg and got to a fairly high level is there a reason to keep playing? I know a lot of games don't end, but I feel like I've seen all there is to offer. Maybe just having a high-score table with ranking would be enough to keep me going. If you've got the space, more characters / bonus levels would be great.
There are a few problems:
- As dw187 commented on earlier it needs some sort of notification when you lose a life - a pause, maybe clear all the Gorns from the screen. You can go from 3 lives to game over too quickly which doesn't seem fair.
- I see no reason to use stun. It doesn't last long enough and never really helped.
- The bonus levels allow the player to get more latinum faster, but they don't seem frequent enough. In one game I got 2 in subsequent levels, but it felt like in most games they don't appear.
Just my personal opinion, feel free to ignore it. I want to re-iterate this is a really, really, good game. I feel that you could take it to another level with a few tweaks.
