A small young children game for learning to spell and read.
want to update with more and more animals (ideally consume all possible sprites).

Good but add auto to UP and DOWN arrow keys. Don't want to push 20+ times to get to right letter.

If you need help lemme know.

Baby steps, I will implement that. I was going to do that today, but instead i ended up drawing more animals.

You just need 26-animals, right ?

The size of animal sprites is not hard coded. So I can add more than 26 animals as long as they are all cute and clear.

I can also make another version with other themes.

Edit: Animals use between 2 by 3 and 4 by 4 sprites, it is unlikely that I'll be able to add more than 15 or so sprites for different animals.

Update
Sliding and accelerating letters, no need to press the up key 20 times.

Now more animals. Including pigs, owls, penguins.

Animals instead of animal. Instead of one static picture there are now multiple animals that roam around.

Next, I want to add nicer backgrounds.

Added a simple background, instead of black we now have a pretty..ish field.

Better backgrounds. Now animals can have their own background.

Better word array management.

Hi.

Now that you're making updates to this cart again, may I suggest if you just TAP the up or down arrow keys, it will automatically go to that next letter.

Currently if you tap the pointer moves but then jerks back down to the same letter you were already on.

Also add LEFT to move UP and RIGHT to move down in addition to regular UP and DOWN arrow keys.

I think I am all done with "word quiz animals". Now adapting it to "word quiz shapes", a more advanced version that can take both sprites and drawing function instead of only sprites.
