Unleashed

Infinite runner where you play as a dog getting chased by its owner. The further you get without getting caught, and the more bones you collect along the way, the higher your score. As simple as that.

How to play

  • X/Z to jump

About the game

This is the first game I make for this console, and its development has had quite a lot of changes of direction, so I am not super happy with the final result, let alone the code, which is a total mess. Nonetheless, this has been a super fun challenge that has made me appreciate how incredible this console is and how talented the developers making games for it are. Making this game was a blast!

I know you say you're not super happy with the result, but the sprites and map for this are really terrific! I find a lot of endless runners don't have much character, but your little world feels alive in a great way, much more immersive than a lot of runners.

I love the art and animation in this! The lead jumping while the dog's running is such a nice touch, and those cars look great. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks both!

I kinda like how the art turned out too, to be honest. I am not an artist, so I usually produce very ugly stuff, but in this case, I am pleased with how most things ended up looking, except for the logo and some of the animations.

The reason why I am not super thrilled with the result is mainly the code, as it ended up being a horrendous mess. Plus, the game is less fun than I anticipated, and some of the mechanics, such as the one about being pushed back by vehicles, still feel clunky and kinda silly to me – I couldn't come up with anything better though.

In any case, I am glad you liked it, this was super fun to make!

Absolutely captivating and addictive! The sprites are charming. A fantastic endless runner experience!

Thanks a lot! I have to say, you all are much better at this game than I am, maybe I should have made it harder haha.

It's a lovely cart and has a lot of charm. As 2bitchuck said, you've made a game where it feels like you've created a little world. Its fun to play, the controls and dog feel responsive, and when you get caught it feels like a mistake you've made rather than the game being unfair or harsh.

I'm guessing that the second road (the one behind the houses at the top of the screen) is just for aesthetics and there isn't a way to get to it?

Yes, the cars on the top road are there just for aesthetics. At some point, I wanted the player to be able to get there (I was meant to add gardens/parks in between buildings, and they would act as bridges from one road to the other), but I eventually discarded the idea to keep things simple.

Also, thanks for the kind words!

indeed, well executed.
the ‘walking on car roof’ is an excellent gameplay idea 👌
