About
Based on the pick up mechanic from Mini and Max in UFO 50, I made a sketch where a character swapped with walls. Then I kept working on it and here we are.
This thread started in the WIP forum, so the carts below are old builds you can inspect for historical purposes. The cart at the top is the latest version.
I consider this game finished, but it has about 2k tokens free, some map space, and some sprite space free for further experiments.

Just an idea I had. See if you can get to the green arrow top left.
Not sure where to take it next. Open to suggestions.
Interesting mechanic. Maybe have areas for boxes to be on to unlock the exit.
I've added some match 3 mechanics. Try to get to the cheese (bonus objective, match all the colour blocks).
A gate that opens when all "buttons" is a great fit, but unsure how to visualise it.
I made some adjustments after live playtesting exposed some bugs.
I've made 15 levels so far, but the last one doesn't really count as it's a sort of finish screen.
The difficulty ramps too steeply for me. The first level is easy. On the second level, the second row of spikes was impossible to pass. Maybe it needs more forgiving coyote-time when jumping. Or make it possible to swap that first stone without jumping over the spikes before you need to swap stones to cross those spikes.
The 2nd row is actually very easy, but I can see how you might think there's another way to solve it.
I've seen people struggle with the 2nd row in person, but they eventually get it. Learning the Flying-Swap is an essential skill for later on so I have to make sure you get confident with it.
I've broken the 2nd row in level 2 into multiple parts this time. Hopefully there will be less room to come up with other solutions.
That's much better. I've got futher in the game now.
I like how the game is developing. Good stuff!
Final level list.
There is room for 8 more levels and the project currently uses 5.8k tokens. I'd like to stop here so there's room to make mods or extra levels.
I'm a sucker for these kind of games, amazing puzzles over all on all maps! Sadly I did ragequit a few levels but that didn't sour my mood overall! Will come back probably in the future and try get all the nuts instead of the cheese mountain! Well done!
I was not expecting people to do speedruns of this game, but some kids are already at it.
It must be quite annoying to have to go through the menu so I've added a new speedrun option that will transition to the next level quickly.
