32 Levels to solve !
.
The game will auto save your progress
Welcome to Sokobird !
Sokobird is a sokoban game based on Yoshio Murase levels.
.
These levels are small (no more than 8x8), and contains only 3 boxes to push, but can be delightfully tricky and surprisingly difficult to solve.
.
As I choose the 64x64 resolution to work with, and also to save the player progression, I had to discard some levels.
.
v1.2 changes :
- Some levels are reorganized.
- Finishing the game will not longer erase your score.
Thank you all for your feedback !

Is it just me, or is this game surprisingly super hard? Maybe I'm just really bad at the puzzles, but I can't get past the first level. In fact, I tried skipping to some future levels, and as expected, they didn't get any easier.
Maybe the small size of the levels contribute to its difficulty, as you don't have much space to maneuver around the boxes.
Anyway, I can tell its a super polished experience, and was fun to try and figure out some of the puzzles.
To be honest.this push box is indeed a little difficult.let's make it simpler.
This is a great version of Sokoban. So polished! The graphics are really clear and expressive, and in such a low resolution. Really impressive.
I like that the puzzles are hard. So far I’ve beaten the first two levels.
I've spent WAY too much time trying to solve the first puzzle and failed each attempt. I really like the design and concept of this game, but it doesn't ease the player into progressively harder puzzles. It just hits you with a seemingly unsolvable puzzle right from the start. Maybe its me and I just suck, but this game is unfortunately frustrating.
This game is super cute and I am far too stupid to play it (cleared level one, gave up after failing level two dozens of times).
I'd like to see a version of this in 128x128 resolution with larger puzzles.
nice sokoban client! and great levels -- I hadn't played these before. 2, 14 and 20 were especially difficult for me.
I wish menus had input buffering, scrolling between levels felt a bit sluggish. The in-game menu was very nice-looking but a bit confusing -- I accidentally reset my progress through the pico8 pause menu multiple times, because that's where my brain kept expecting to find the "restart level" option
great game!
I found some of the later levels easier than the first couple.
I wish it would save which levels you have completed in the persistent storage. Ignore this. The game does record which levels you have completed.
Masterful use of the 64x64 screen resolution. Level quality is also exceptional : hard but not "computer generated you have to brute force every branch hard".
As pancelor mentioned before, the level select is not pleasant to use. While the "accelerate and slow down" effect looks great for a single tap, It'd be much faster to go to level 32 if you kept top speed while the direction arrow is pressed, and only decelerate and stop on the level once the arrow is depressed. Handling multiple taps would also be nice. If you want I can make a quick demo of what I mean by that.
This is all minor nitpicking, as most of the time is spent in game anyway. Star and Fav from me.
Game play wise, I'd love to have an option to change how rewind works. Ideally, I'd like a single press of undo to have the bird auto move backward at a much higher speed until a single push is undone, or maybe move backwards faster while undo is pressed, but have the pushed undone stop the rewind, until you release an repress the undo button.
Fantastic game! Thanks - really enjoyed this one.
Yoshio Murase is a genius with these levels. Some tough ones in there, but great fun.
