SNOKE is a two player snake game. You can play it with a friend or by yourself against the CPU.
Mechanics
Unlike any normal snake game, you can go through your own body (but not through the enemy's body).
While you play, you will gradually lose health. To restore health, you have to eat apples. You can see your current health at the side of the screen.
Controls
Player 1 controls with the arrow keys.
Player 2 controls with S, F, E, D.
You can turn off the music in the pause menu.
Feedback
This is my first game I published here. I know that the music is not that great, but I thought it was better than nothing.
I appreciate feedback!
This is a really neat idea! Tho I'd switch the select color from blue to white as it completely confused me.
Thanks for the feedback @Ummmm_ok!
I have changed the colors of the selection screen.
Thank you for changing the colors, I had the same problem as Ummmm_ok the first time I played.
This is a really neat game with some deep gameplay. Here's the challenge I set for myself:
- Play against the computer.
- Try to keep both snakes alive as long as possible by the timer in the upper left. (Is that counting seconds?)
- For the score to count, your snake still has to be the survivor.
- Hard version: don't just starve out the other snake at the end, manipulate it into colliding with something.
Sometimes this means giving up on a fruit to keep the other snake alive, but you want to make sure it doesn't get to wall off too much of the board while it does so.
Around 100 time it gets really interesting as both snakes are long enough that you want to make sure that neither gets cut off.
By 200 time it's getting less interesting, as you really have to set up a continuous wall around half of the board. But it's still a challenge to maintain it and make sure both snakes have the room to eat.
@Cowirrie Thank you for playing and for making the challenge!
Yes, the timer is counting in seconds.
very cool game, quite fun with friends. A thing I'd improve is make the hitbox for the apples bigger, we had a few confusing seconds as to why the apple wasn't being eaten.
