In the 0.2.10 update, you are allowed to make custom weapons. Because of that, I have made a weapon called the crystal laser for people to use and to for me to know if I should use it in later maps. This is just a showcase, not a complete level, so don't judge on the level.

Overview:

Kind of works like twirlygun
Weird sound effect
Looks really cool

Was that an xm file used for the SFX?

I'm not sure, I edited the sound via voxde.

I use the sound by making something, using the modifier on it, then in the audio box and I put 21627 (=any number)

Yeah, except it can sometimes get a little mixed up with all the groups

I noticed they are all from the game itself, how can I use an imported sound?

Im not sure if you can use imported sounds, but 60ftatomic man says something about xm files so maybe you can use those

It was in the release notes, not sure if they are importable yet but I think this was what I was referring too

kibcob, how did you modify the look of the weapon?
I can't find the bullet object anywhere :(
Is there a document somewhere describing custom character weapons creation?

I figure it out, bullets are inside of the player character object :)
