PANPANPANPANPANDIEDIEDIEBOOMS#!TAGAINPANPANPAN (yea it's an explosive bullet hell)

I STRONGLY suggest you put some epic music in the background. Here is the LUFTRAUSERS OST for example.

left and right arrows to move left and right.
up and down to change weapon (when you have several).
z to shoot, x to hold aim.

A game actually not about actual rain!
You could say I coded the bullet-hell out of the theme of that jam! Get it?!

21060 characters over 1419 lines, for 8156/8192 tokens. Before you ask, yes I did hit the token limit during the development... Yes, more than once.
I am genuinely surprised I could finish it.
Any bug or design flaw is totally intended.

HAVE FUN!

Post-jam version changes:
-fixed a whole lot of bugs and typos.
-added actual level design (made winning the game doable too).
-improved end screen :p.

That jam was cool.

edit: POST YOUR SCORES PEOPLE!
edit2: The boss (at the last 100mm) is actually reachable. My advice: shotgun is OP, use it.
edit3: Post-jam version.

Excellent game, very fun, a lot of enemies and weapon types. I realy like the fealing. It's a bit too random though and you end up hitting a point where you die nearly instantly after a respawn. Great job anyway !

Thanks! Yes, the level design was supposed to be a bit more elaborated but the token limit didn't allow me to make it so... But thank you very much!

Really nice art style. Those are probably my favourite clouds out of all the jam submissions.

For things like level design you can avoid spending tokens by using the map and reading it with mget function. If you open PAT Shooter or MR Beam cartridge You will see how the map is used to generate monster waves.

@solar: Thanks! I'm very much honored that you like my clouds so much :D

@benjamin: Just took a look at it. I had given it a thought while making About 1600mm but I really didn't think it could be that simple... now I wish I had tried to do it. But thanks for the advice!

I'm working on a choplifter like game and I fall in love for your tank.

Haha thanks! You can reuse the sprites if you want! Just modify them so that they actually fit your game, like, at least the colors :p

Thanks :-)

You should totally do some post-jam work on this and make it beatable. I want to see what happens when I reach 0 mm! :L

Said and done!!

You mention putting on some epic music in the background, would you happen to like some for your game?

You have no idea how much I would love that Pizza but the sfx take up the four audio channels already, it would just cut the music whenever some needs to be played... :/

Challenging, well made game! I included it in my Pico-8 Jam #1 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/LE0NF8O7rUM

This is so hadcore and cool! It really inspires me to finish the game I'm working on! Well done!

I finished the game!
