Hmmh, I agree with your copypasting view, writing it yourself makes you learn, copying doesn't.

I gathered the games you mention in the magazine and made a quick example of the demo cart I had in mind. Ironically, all the music and effects were copypasted from other carts. I do however understand how they work... Mostly :P

Right now, it's super easy to use as a generic loader, because the only thing you need is to change the gamelist entries, and make sure the carts have the same name. It's limited to 13 entries though as it starts to push stuff off the screen.

I though about adding a box at the bottom that would include the creator and the snippet from the zine, but that's after I make the list scrollable.

Clicky.

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for the fanzine. Yesterday was my first day playing with pico-8, and it helped me diving in.

This (fanzine #1) is very well written. Sold me on the pico-8, in fact. Will place order in minutes. Solid!

This fanzine was great! Got me to finally bite the bullet and purchase pico-8. I've been having a blast ever since. This little console is perfect for me, I tend to get over my head in engines like Unity, but pico-8 is just the right size.

I'd personally love if the zines continued with having some beginner level content such as Squashy. Maybe building simple games to explain certain aspects of development, like a platformer to explain basic physics in a 2d plane.

All the examples where built really well, Squashy especially was easy to follow and sets the standard for the format!

Hello Everyone,
The reception of the fanzine #1 as been fantastic.
I have receive so many good tutorial than I split the content between the fanzine #1 and #2.

The fanzine number #will be released hopefully at the beginning of October.

And I need you for the NUMBER 3 I would like to propose to you a theme: .
LOCAL MULTIPLAYER GAME

more info about the Fanzine #3 submission

I'd love if some of the articles from the zine would get reposted to the wiki because frankly currently wiki is fairly empty and not very helpful.

@darkhog You can profably repost the article of the fanzine in the Wiki. (asking for the authorization of each author previously).

Even if I think than the zine make sense as a all, not too much divided in different wiki pages.

( the fanzine number one is for beginner, the number 2 will be more advanced, the number 3 will be a special one ( local multiplayer).

If I choose the Fanzine format, this is the reason, to have a coherent approach to an educational problem.

Well done Arnaud. That's great. I love Fanzine #1.
Can't wait till the next release :)
