I have updated my single screen farming game with some things I have been thinking about for a while:
Update 1.4
- Rain now waters the crops.
- Crops don't rot anymore.
- New RNG routine for fishing.
- Added a cooldown period for fish in the pond.
- Fish indicator added.
- Added fish and food dex.
- Cat happiness cooldown reduced.
- Added text prompt for workout routine.
- Playtime counter fixed. Unfortunately, the game time has been reset.
- Added indicator to save remaining stats. Disclaimer: Almost all stats are saved immediately after being updated. Only playtime and cat happiness are saved every minute.
Update 1.3b
- removed a small bug.
Update 1.3:
- added Pawchievements. You now have six more reasons to play this little game. At the sign get additional information about pawchievements by pressing the right arrow key.
- added a workout mini-game as idle animation.
- fixed and refined a few little things
Update 1.2b:
- Just a hot fix for watering the crops. Sometimes not all crops in a row would have been watered. They do now.
Original post:
Feed the chicken, water the crops, fish in the lake, cook stuff, hang out in the sun or in the rain or just pet the cat. In Overcast you can farm at your own preferred pace. There are no seasons and winter is never coming. It rains a lot, though.
Things you can do:
- Fish in the lake and try to catch all of the 16 different types of fish.
- Feed the chicken to make them lay some eggs.
- Water the crops to make them grow.
- Collect eggs and harvest the crops to cook stuff.
- Try to prepare all of the 16 different types of food including the notorious Fugu Sashimi!
- Hang out in your chair and just doze off.
- Pet the cat to keep it happy <3
- Read the sign to see this list and see some statistics.

This game is a little gem. So much polish. Easy to pick up and play.
One question - How do you get a farm workout?
Thank you! For a work out you need to wait for the idle animation. They will take out a skipping rope. You then can use it with the action button.
i love the game. really fun and relaxing. you did an awesome job with the tasks simplification. it fells great to play, but the idle animation takes too much time to happen (20 seconds). you could, after two or three seconds without movement, implement "x" button to enter in "idle animation" mode to do the workout with "z" button as it already is.
the progress with fishing and cooking starts to take too long after 50%. is it paired with the pawchievements? to progress with the fishing and cocking percentage, do you have to do the pawchievements as well?
There ist actually one pawchievement you will get automatically when you got all the food. Otherwise they are not bound to the statistic of cooking and fishing.
And I agree: RNGesus is strong with this one after a certain percentage. Maybe I will give this a little more fine tuning.
