Hello, so as you can tell this isn't finished, planned to be though. This is a simple engine for ultima, as of now it's very basic. you can add to it as much as you like.

Whatever happened to The World Of Inversia, Scrub ?

Ah well ... Nice little engine. Good outlines on sprites. Gold star for you.

Here is your Ultima scrolling tiles with different code. Only scrolls every 4th frame and diagonally to boot and with zero pokes. The advantage of doing it this way is you can easily have horizontal scrolling - or any direction you want as well.

Alright cool, thanks. Yea inversia's been on my mind. But thought I'd make an engine first and i'd rather there be a bunch of clones of my thing than all the breakouts.

Are you still poking around in Blitzmax or are you here to stay ?

I can't promise we can work on projects like we did, but we can certainly appraise each other and improve our skills through helpful suggestions and comments.

suggest to move it to ‘work in progress’. It is a bit misleading but atm!

'tis indeed a work in progress. Also, Scrub, you have a bit of a bug in it. Start out holding down both DOWN and RIGHT and you will see in a short amount of time the player flips right out of the map.

That doesn't happen HERE as it allows only one arrow key at a time alternatively.

Might be worth checking out the code to see how it's done.

How do I move to a work in progress? Also I should definitely check out the one key at a time, I knewnthe problem existed just not how to fix it. Yes still poking in blitz

When developing a project, Scrub, always see the beginning, middle, and ending. If you cannot, you're not ready to complete it.

Ultima is no slouch, it's a very complex program with lots of elements in it.

You will also need several pieces to it to make it interesting.

WHAT and WHERE will they play it is already known, Pico-8. Answer the remaining questions and you will be that much further along.

WHO will play your game.
WHY will they play it.
WHEN will they play it.

Remember the most famous and classic JRPG plots of all time. They will guide you in your development of an original RPG game that is nothing short of flawless execution and brilliance on your part.
