A demo by Jumalauta. Participated in the demo compo at the JML 18 years anniversary demoparty, won first place.
Might not work properly with Chrome, there may be some sync errors and glitches. Should work consistently with Edge. Cart works just fine in the PICO-8 application itself, of course.
UPDATE: Now fixed for 0.1.12! Which means it won't run correctly in older versions anymore, since it depends on time() for sync.
An incredible music video with an axe to grind ! :)
Very superb work !
It's not too often you find carts that include lyrics. (Now I know what to sing in the shower !)
Definitely marked as one of my favorite carts ! 💜
Great demo!
Mind you, not so sure about you awarding yourself first place at your own demoparty. ;)
Felice, only Jumalauta was allowed to participate in the compo anyway, although all visitors were given the opportunity to join Jumalauta so they can enter their demos ;)
Ah, Jumalauta is a group, then, not a person? I see, makes more sense. :)
This is possibly the coolest, most badass thing I've ever seen in Pico-8. Just one of these dozens of effects could be their own post!
Sadly this is broken on the BBS after the 1.12 update, at least on Firefox.
Only a 1/3rd of the Jumalauta logo renders, the lyrics desync quite badly (waaay more than before) during the twister/rotozoomer effects, and eventually it crashes with

I thought 0.1.12 broke this at first, but then I realized it kind of didn't, since time() worked too fast in 60fps before and my sync depended on that :)
Fixed version now uploaded.
Yep, the version I had backed up definitely did not play right. Nice job updating, Jobe. Still seems a little off when playing in the middle. Updates to Pico-8 I suspect.
That was amazing and defintily not what I was expecting.
I'm honestly not sure, if this a cover or an actual hit single. That level of quality isn't easy to achieve.
I'm still shocked this was made with Pico-8's limitations. This is such an awesome piece of art jobe
wooooooow. Im a big fan of Judas Priest and all the nwobhm from the 70ties and 80ties, and this simply blow my head away! The most beautiful and hevy metal thing i ever seen, and hope theres so much from you. Those riffs, the lyrics, all the animations seems like a journey through a heavy metal dream. Hope that Rob Halford see this, he'll be very proud of you.
