WIP for P8JAM1 "Rain"

My first real attempt at a platformer.

Currently struggling with the buoyancy, and still need to add water pressure but it's starting to come together.

Hope is to make an interesting puzzle platformer utilising the rising water and flow mechanics.
Switches to toggle floodgates and things.

Rescue the kitty from the rain!

Nice! I see a lot of potential!

I drowned. Wow, crazy good game mechanics, visuals and sfx.

cheers! sadly not ready for the deadline, trouble with the water pressure still, but progress will continue.

The aim of the game is now to rescue a kitty from the rain :3

You still have 24 hours! Try your best! D:

Oh nooo, you didn't make it... :( Oh well! Good job anyway!

yeah, sadly didn't find time to finish it for the deadline, but i'm gonna keep working on it =)

I appreciate your subtle commentary on how real life never cooperates with your efforts to aid the helpless, how the unexpected always intervenes, how those whose shoulders you might have stood on will betray you even without apparent provocation. But if you stand and do nothing you still lose, because you'll drown in sorrow and self-pity because you weren't able to help the ones you love.

This is fantastic. You nailed the atmosphere, and I'm glad you're going to continue with it.

got some water pressure working using the Dwarf Fortress method

unfortunately it's quite slow for larger bodies of water, need to find a way to optimise it.

Thats like the coolest thing I've seen here. Keep up the great work!

Very drippy and I really like how the crates bob in the water. I found movement speed a little bit fast but I probably just need to practice.

Neat game! I included it in my Pico-8 Jam #1 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/LE0NF8O7rUM

You planning on updating this? I really wanted to see what kind of puzzles would come out of it.

lol, will this ever be updated?

good mood indeed and potential.
If you plan to come back to this game, I see many places where code can be optimized.
