It's possible to create a Sierpinski triangle fractal by repeatedly moving a point 1/3 of the way towards one of three points, chosen at random. The concept is explained in this video:</p> <p><object width="640" height="400"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/kbKtFN71Lfs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/kbKtFN71Lfs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="400"></embed></object></p> <p>I got to playing with this idea, and ended up with the fractal you see below. It's got weird sword like protrusions, which is why I called it 'sword-pinski'</p> <p>Of course the best way to enjoy it is to modify the code and see what happens :-)</p> <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=64743#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/pico8_sword_pinski-1.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=64743#p"> sword_pinski</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=37648"> hargisss</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=64743#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=34333 https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=34333 Sat, 25 May 2019 16:35:02 UTC
