This is a sprite hack of �Valdi: Shadows� by beepyeah. I tried to change the theme to something cute. The original is here: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=55085&tid=31664

Issues:

If I knew more about coding, I would try to make the title/end screen art larger by using more of the spritesheet. Or even better, animations for the character sprites.
The music doesn't fit the theme. If anyone has some fun/happy music to add, that would be awesome!

0.3 - Fixed final screen image again.
0.2 - Changed the final screen image so it doesn't get cut off. Changed the transparent green exit sprite.

How to automatically launch into SPLORE mode in Linux?

I created a custom launcher for my Gnome desktops (running Fedora 23/24 and Ubuntu Gnome 14.04), but I can't get it to launch in the SPLORE mode.

The .desktop file I added to ~/.local/share/applications looks like:

Encoding=UTF-8
Value=1.0
Type=Application
Name=PICO-8
GenericName=PICO-8
Comment=PICO-8
Icon=/home/username/Games/pico-8/lexaloffle-pico8.png
Exec="/home/username/Games/pico-8/pico8"

Path=/home/username/Games/pico-8/

If I change the Exec line to include the -splore option, like this:

Exec="/home/username/Games/pico-8/pico8 -splore"

it doesn't work at all.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I made a retro style box art for the amazing game Mistigri in the free, open source application GIMP. I wanted to mimic the old school Nintendo black box games. You can view the large faux box art here:

I am considering making a few video tutorials to show other users how to do it. Is any interested?

If so, I could post a few videos in a couple of weeks. I would be curious to see what others design. Maybe someone could make a template, so it is easy for everyone to make consistent covers.
