This is with the current latest release v0.2.2 on macOS 11.2.1 (if that's relevant):

If I try to export a sprite sheet, then modify it in an external program, then import it, I get a "could not load" error message. It also doesn't seem to matter whether I modify it externally, since export sprites.png and then import sprites.png shows the same error. Nothing seems to be logged to stdout or stderr.

A PICO-8 remake of Alchemy Deluxe, PopCap's 2001 game for PC (and later Mac).

Controls

  • Arrow keys to move cursor
  • (X) to place tile
  • (O) to discard tile

A continuation of my previous WIP and an entry to the first ever GameShell GameJam (itch.io)

Synopsis

Play as Shark X, a NASA experiment sent into space (accidentally), to save the aliens living on Saturnian moons from a threat that comes from afar.

Looking for feedback on my first real PICO-8 game. I have some background music (inspired by Jaws) and a lovely shark sprite-set + some little fishies. The shark chomps with the Z-button. Otherwise no other functionality is implemented yet.
