Friday evening I decided I try and spend 10 hours on a game spread over the weekend, without knowing it was LDJAM14. I've managed to clock up about 8hrs on it. It's been really fun. Lots of ugly code, that needs refactoring, and I'm a complete newb at sound & music, so any help gratefully accept there.

The code is up on github https://github.com/pond823/GetToTheChopper

I got to the choppah!

It's a solid start, I like it. Some suggestions if you are going to continue working on it:

  • Needs sound! I'm missing the chop-chop of the choppah
  • It's a bit too easy. I've beaten it on the first try
  • There should be more reasons to move sideways. You can just stand there and mash the shoot button. Maybe obstacles or powerups?

Well done! Keep it up!

Thanks! 100% on all your advice. I've no experience with sound, so I need to get up to speed on that.

Obstacles are a really good idea.
